Clues in the Pines Card

Some researchers suspect that there are clues hidden within the Pines Card that may reveal the location of the body of suspected (unconfirmed) Zodiac victim Donna Lass. This page will present some of those theories.

Donna Lass worked as a nurse at the Sahara Tahoe resort casino in Stateline, Nevada. On September 6, 1970, she signed her last entry in her log book at 1:50 a.m. She was never seen leaving the Sahara, however her car was found at her apartment complex at Stateline. Lass, then 25, was never seen again.

The next day, Lass's landlord and employer both received calls from a man who told them that Lass was ill and had left because of a family emergency. The call proved to be a hoax.

A month later, a paste-up postcard was received by the San Francisco Chronicle, hinting that Lass's disappearance was connected to the Zodiac Killer. Six months later, on March 22, 1971, another paste-up postcard was received by the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Francisco Examiner, and the San Francisco Times. No evidence was ever uncovered to connect Donna Lass's disappearance with the Zodiac Killer. (Wikipedia)

The card was addressed to "Paul Averly. The following phrases were pasted on the card:

A cross-circle was also drawn on the card, and a hole was punched though the card.

Robert Peter Ackerman's Theory

Robert Peter Ackerman has sent ZodiacKillerTRUTH.com some images within which he indicates a mark that he believes may have been left by the Zodiac as a clue to the location of Donna Lass' body.

Mr. Ackerman drew a pink circle to indicate where Zodiac’s punch hole existed on his original. He has also drawn a pink arrow pointing to what appears to him to be another hand-drawn cross-circle to the right of the second-closest pine tree represented near the middle of the picture. Mr. Ackerman believes the spot indicated in the image would be a prime site for investigation, metal detecting, and light excavation.

The similarity between the cross-circle symbol of the Zodiac, and the symbol that Ackerman points out is rather chilling, if that is indeed what we're seeing. Of course, the explanation may be owed completely to the digital rendering of the images in question. You decide. Take a look at the images. Let us know what you think.
